Nearly every cost overrun we have seen traces back to something that a site survey would have caught: a low ceiling, an obstructed sightline, a shorter load-in window than advertised.
We walk the room with the planner, confirm power and rigging, photograph the dock and freight path, and note house inventory that can be used instead of rented.
That last item alone often pays for the survey — using in-house screens or house power distribution eliminates real line items.
The survey also sets expectations. Everyone sees the same room and agrees on what is possible before a contract is signed.
